History of Laskarpur High School (H.S.)

From a visionary community movement in 1969 to a premier Higher Secondary institution with 3,500+ students in Lalgola, Murshidabad.

The Founding Vision & Heritage

Prior to 1969, children in Laskarpur and surrounding rural villages of Lalgola South faced significant hardships in accessing secondary education, often requiring arduous journeys across unpaved rural tracks. Recognizing education as the sole catalyst for social upliftment, local community leaders gathered to establish an indigenous seat of learning.

On 5th January 1969, Laskarpur High School was officially inaugurated. The historic archives and official records of Banglar Shiksha gratefully commemorate the monumental voluntary contributions of respected village elders, prominently including the late Khudiram Mondal, Ashutosh Mondal, and philanthropic patrons who donated land, resources, and persistent dedication to nurture the fledgling school.

Over the decades, the institution has steadfastly climbed every educational milestone: starting with basic junior secondary classes, attaining full recognition from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), gaining Higher Secondary status under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), adding modern STEM laboratories, and stepping into the 2026 digital era with 39 classrooms and 41+ teachers.
